WELL DONE GIRLS…!!!
What a Great Game Girls with a resounding 2-0 victory!! Last time we played Southern Districts they won 1-3. We had plenty of shots on goal particularly in the first half and the score line could easily have been considerably greater. We were most impressed with the way the girls played as a team. The difference between the two sides was very evident. Southern Districts were content to just kick the ball forward, whereas our girls always looked to pass the ball to a team mate when they could. This ensured we held a greater amount of possession and enabled us to dominate the game. Our positional play was also far superior to Southern Districts who tended to bunch up around the ball. Our girls took advantage of this and passed the ball clear of the bunch to a team-mate and from there we were able to go for a shot. Great Effort to our backs getting Southern Districts off side twice during the game!! . Stats for this week.. 57% possession, 502 touches on the ball, 261 passes and massive 30 string passes. 15 shots resulting in 2 goals. We have improved even more this week in regards to passing, moving and creating chances. It’s only a matter of time before all the hard work pays off and we turn into scoring machines. The highlight for me this week was the way the girls put into practice the set move and were rightly rewarded with a goal.. Credit to both our keepers keeping Southern Districts scoreless. Great Job girls!!!.
Player of the Match –Aneliese
Congratulations!, Well done to our Player of the Match. She put in a tremendous effort. Her attitude was brilliant and this was reflected in her performance. The fact there were no goals by our opposition is a testament to Aneliese’ performance. She destroyed a number of the opposition's attacking runs tirelessly tracking her playing to ensure they remained scoreless. Much to her dismay Aneliese was forced to pull off some important saves with both her quick thinking and reflexes. Another consistent, strong performance. A great effort and a trophy that was well deserved.
